Hermosa Beach Real Estate Market Update
Welcome to the Hermosa Beach real estate market update for the first half of 2026.
The Hermosa Beach real estate market remained healthy through the first half of 2026, with strong buyer demand despite a more balanced market than we’ve seen in recent years. A total of 83 homes sold during the first six months of the year, up more than 12% from the same period in 2025, while the average sale price climbed to $3.42 million, an increase of just over 10% year over year. Homes also sold more quickly, averaging 35 days on market compared to 40 days last year.
Inventory has improved modestly, with approximately 2.3 months of supply, giving buyers more choices while still favoring well-priced homes. Sellers should note that today’s market rewards strategic pricing and strong presentation. While one-third of homes sold above asking price, 43% sold below list price, illustrating that buyers remain value-conscious and are quick to pass on homes that enter the market overpriced.
The single-family home market continued to outperform condominiums and townhomes. Single-family homes saw higher sales volume, rising prices, and significantly faster sales, averaging just 26 days on market. In contrast, the condo and townhome market remained more competitive, with homes averaging 51 days on market as buyers enjoyed greater selection and negotiating leverage.
Overall, Hermosa Beach continues to be one of the South Bay’s most desirable coastal communities. Buyers remain active for quality homes that are priced appropriately, while sellers who invest in thoughtful preparation and accurate pricing continue to achieve outstanding results. As always, each neighborhood and property type performs differently, making local market knowledge more important than ever when determining value or developing a successful marketing strategy.
