Welcome to beachfront living in Hermosa Beach.  As a long time resident I can confidently say that Hermosa Beach is an idyllic place to live……and it doesn’t get much better than living beachfront on the famous Hermosa Beach Strand.

Beachfront condos are very rare in Hermosa and other than the very unique hotel condo ownership siuation at The Beach House Hermosa, beachfront condos are extremely rare in Hermosa Beach.  There are only 3 real condo type buildings that are beachfront and this is one.  624 The Strand is big enough to be more than just a second home…..with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and almost 1,400 square feet there are a lot of options.  It’s not bad living right at the beach!  The complex was built in 1976 but as with most of the units this one has been extensively updated over the years.  The condo was listed at $4,900,000 in 2021 but didn’t sell.

Beachfront Triplex at 528 The Strand Returns to the Market

528 The Strand, Hermosa Beach CA 90254

This beachfront triplex at 528 The Strand just hit the market but, in reality has been on and off the market for a very long time.  The property last sold in 2017 for $5,600,000 and came back on the market in October of 2019 for $6,499,000.  The triplex was pulled off of the market for a year or so and made a return early in 2021 for the same price.  It was later reduced to $5,999,000 and didn’t selll and was pulled off again after a few months.

It has now made it’s triumphant return back at the same $6,499,000 number.  The market is a bit different but things seem to be fairly slow on the Hermosa Beach Strand market with 8 beachfront homes or properties now for sale.

September’s Top Sale of the Month – Walkstreet Home in the Sand Section $5,050,000

322 31st Street tops the September sales closing at $5,050,000

The highest price sale of September was a beautiful walkstreet single family home with some nice ocean views that just recently closed at $5,050,000.  Originally priced at $5,675,000 this ended up at a very attractive price for the buyer.  The home was a coastal plantation style built in 2016 with 4 bedrooms, 5 baths and just over 3,300 square feet (per listing info).  Sitting fairly high on a north Hermosa walk street, the location was tough to beat.

It was a pretty huge month for home sales in the city of Hermosa Beach CA. See how it compares with other months on our Hermosa real estate trends page.

There were 19 on market home sales which is a incredible month.  The highest price of the month was for 322 31st Street which was a 4 bed/5 bath single family home on a north Hermosa walkstreet that sold for $5,050,000. The average list price was $2,258,316 with the average sold price at $2,292,579. Homes averaged only 33 days on market before going into escrow.
