The newest addition to the crowded beachfront home market in Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach is 2014 The Strand, Hermosa Beach. Located near the energetic pier plaza area without being too close the home features 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and approximately 3,348 square feet on a 2,700+ foot beachfront lot. Nicely remodeled throughout it offers a casual beach feel and classic coastal look with a Cape Cod exterior and nautical white interiors highlighted with dark hardwood flooring. It also offers one of the more usuable rooftop decks that we’ve seen offering a private area away from the prying eyes of Strand and beachgoers.
The home at 2304 The Strand has always been an interesting property when walking or biking past. Originally built in 2007 it had unusual features inside and out and it often looked like the owners never fully moved in. While it’s definitely been cleaned up and interior spaces brightened and simplified, some of those features remain including the turf yard with a very short lazy river and a bridge….not exactly something you often see at the beach.
The interior had been a mystery for a while as well but that’s now changed and this corner lot home is on the market for just under $14,000,000. The location is pretty ideal with a north facing corner lot in the northern Hermosa sand section making it convenient to head to either pier area. The home itself offers a mediterranean style with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths and a little over 3,600 square feet on an oversized 4,224 square foot lot.

Hermosa’s big home sale of the month was a beachfront Strand home located at 212 The Strand. This home had been on the market for a LONG time originally listed at $11,900,000 back in 2016 which is a pretty dramatic drop to the $8,200,000 it sold for years later. The official “days on market” was 1,048 which is slightly misleading as it was listed long before it was completed. The main challenge that the home had was the very southern Strand location as that’s a very busy area and not quite as desirable for the areas north of 16th Street. The home offered 5 Beds, 5.5 Baths, approximately 4,403 sqft on a 2,374 sqft lot. We’re not aware of the sales price so we’ll update that once sales info is released after close of escrow.

2806 The Strand hits the market listed at $18,995,000
Rare double lot beachfront home with over 6800 square feet
If you’ve ever walked or biked on The Strand, you’ve certainly noticed this one. Not only is it significantly larger than most other beachfront homes nearby, it had long been painted a reddish hue and simply didn’t look like anything else at the beach.
Priced at $18,995,000 the home at 2806 The Strand is one of the biggest beachfront homes built in all of the South Bay. Sitting on a double lot with incredible beach frontage, the home offers over 6,800 square feet* on a very impressive 5,318 square foot lot. Built in 2012, the home features 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. One of the more impressive features is the roof deck providing another 1,000 sq feet of area*. What has made this home oft discussed around town is the architecture, layout and design. Custom built this definitely never had the look and feel of a beach house, but instead was designed as an Italian villa. The owners and current agents did a very nice job softening up the look a bit and gone is the red exterior and replaced with a white color scheme that definitely softens and mutes the original ornate stylings and design. Listed at $18,995,000 the home was on the market back in 2017 for a fairly staggering $25,000,000. While the future buyer will likely do a major remodel and update, there is great opportunity given the size of the home and lot and the north Hermosa location is absolutely ideal.
